London calling

I have to admit that I didn't realize the Saints' trip to London next season to play the San Diego Chargers was going to be a SAINTS HOME GAME.

Do the people in the NFL office just have something against the Saints?

You may recall after Katrina hit, the Saints played their "home'' opener in Giants Stadium against -- the Giants. That's a real home-field advantage.

Now, three years later, the league -- in the interest of "helping'' with tourism for New Orleans by bringing the Saints across the big pond -- has the Saints giving up one of their eight home dates.

So while other teams have eight home games, your New Orleans Saints will play seven at home in the Dome.

With friends like these, who needs enemies.

I think they want payback for helping rebuild the Superdome. Or maybe the scrooge of an owner Tom Benson just wanted the extra money in his pocket. Either way, it definitely hurts a city struggling to rebuild its economy. We ALWAYS get the fuzzy end of the lollipop. We will survive this too.
