Paging Jimmy Watson ... the SEC is calling
Any more ridiculous arguments about the SEC not being the best conference?

Verbal volleys and prognostications and predictions from The Times Sports staff posted every day. Read their views from the sidelines and from the comfort of their office chairs. These Monday morning quarterbacks rarely wait until Monday to call it like they see it.

Amen, Brother Roy. Amen. The SEC rules!!!
OK, I'll bite.
Would you be saying it's the best conference if the Buckeyes beat Florida?
Brian,
I'm not sure where you have been. But all season we've pretty much said the same thing about how tough the SEC was.
AND
The pregame podcast, I'm not sure who, if anyone picked Ohio State.
My theory was simple, you look at who Ohio State had beaten this season and who those teams have beaten. Then you do the same with Florida.
The Michigan loss in the Rose Bowl was just a sign of things to come.
It's not like we're saying "look at the SEC now!!"
We said it all season, including the pregame predictions and so forth. No Monday morning quarterbacking here.
The Buckeyes didn't compete, nevertheless beat, the Gators, so what we would have done is pretty much a moot point.
My point is it seems like you're pinning the "SEC is the best conference" argument solely on Florida beating Ohio State.
Penn State's win over Tennessee and Wisconsin's win over SEC West champ Arkansas mean nothing?
Mighty Auburn sneaking past a five-loss Nebraska team don't enter into the equation?
