Mixing Winter Olympics and NASCAR

What do you get when you mix the Winter Olympics and NASCAR? Shreveport-Bossier City driving over the last two days.
Really, can anyone explain why people feel the need to drive over the speed limit on icy roads?
The number of automobile accidents Sunday night and Monday morning went into the hundreds. Gee, let's see, there is a slight drizzle; it's really, really cold; so let's go really, really fast. Makes sense to me.

Hey, we're doing almost as well as the U.S. in sliding sports. Cut them some slack.

Hey, what are the chances some of these people around here might just start reading the signs. You know the ones that say "No Turn on Red" or "Stop Here on Red" or even "Do Not Block Driveway" in front of a fire station. You reckon they put those signs up to pretty up the landscape. Have to make things look good for the Mardi Gras Parades. Gee, what a novel concept it would be to do what the sign actually says!
